Category 3G fans for Zone 2

If there is usually no explosive atmosphere or this is only very rarely the case (zone 2), fans of category 3G or higher must be used.

This is often the case, e.g. with exhaust air occasionally contaminated with solvents or in the vicinity of a Zone 1 area.

Fans for this zone must not contain any ignition sources during normal operation. For this purpose, safe minimum distances and material pairings, among other things, must be maintained internally. Drive motors must be at least Ex ec motors of category 3G.
